Class Info
                              Suisun - Class Schedule & Fees

Currently, on-going classes for kids are on Sunday from 12-2, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
(both kids and adults), and adults on Monday night from 7-9 pm. More classes will be added as the need
arises.

Most classes meet 2 hours a week for 4 weeks, for a fee of $50.00.  A second option is to attend
classes by the hour at a fee of $10.00 per hour.  Private lessons are $20.00 per hour.  There are some
other variations for students that can't commit to 4 weeks due to school or family schedules.  Please
contact the school for details.

Class size & equipment:  The maximum number of students for group classes is six students.  All
sewing equipment is provided.  Students provide their own fabric and notions for each project they do.

Sewing Studio time -- for teenagers and adults - access to Janome computerized sewing machines,
sergers, coverstitch machines, cutting tables, other sewing tools and equipment, and friendly
assistance. Time available is Saturday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., fee is $10.00 an hour (1 hour minimum).  
Must call for an appointment and for space availability.

New Machines! -  we now have the Janome 6600 Professional sewing machine and the Janome
Coverpro 1000 CPX and 1000 CP (it creates the two or three rows of stitching that you find on the hems
of your t-shirts and other knit sportswear).  Both machines are awesome!

Coverpro Classes - Learn tricks of how to maximize your Janome Coverpro coverstitch machine.  Call
for class times.  

Solano County Neighborhood Sewing Group - Come and join other fellow sewing enthusiasts for
inspiration, camaraderie, and sharing the latest sewing techniques.  We currently meet the 2nd & 4th
Thursday of the month from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.  Bring your latest sewing creation for our show & tell. If

                                         Specialty Classes

Preregistration and prepayment is required for all classes.  Class size is limited to 3 to 4
students.

                                   KIDS CLASSES
                (Boys and girls ages 6+ - must have completed 1st grade)

Intro Class
In this beginners class, the students will learn sewing machine basics, terminology, usage of seam
gauge, and pinning.  They will create a sewing/tote bag to take home and decorate. (2 hour class)

Dates: Saturday from 12-2 or Sunday from 2-4; Call for class dates
Fee:  $30.00 (machines and materials are provided)

Stretchy Book Cover Class
Prerequisite: Must have completed the Intro Class.  
Make your own custom stretchy book covers for your school books.  (1 hour class)

Date:  Saturday from 12-2 or Sunday from 2-4; Call for class dates
Supplies needed:  Books that need to be covered and 1 yard of Lycra swimsuit fabric (should cover 2
large books and 2 smaller books).
Fee:  $10.00 per session (sergers and machines provided)

Polar Fleece Hats & Scarves
Prerequisite: Must have completed the Intro Class.
Make polar fleece hats & scarves in time for ski season or for Holiday gifts. View picture of hat & scarf   
(2 hour class)

Date:  Saturday from 12-2 or Sunday from 2-4; Call for class dates
Supplies needed:  1 yard polar fleece will make 2 hats and 2 scarves. Thread to match.
Fee:  $20.00 per person (machines provided)

Pull-over Baby Bibs
Prerequisite: Must have completed the Intro Class.
Pullover baby bibs for infants or toddlers.  Great baby shower gift. (2 hour class)

Swimsuit Class
For all you water aerobic enthusiasts and swimmers - is your summer swimsuit finally wearing out?  
Learn to make your own swimsuit at a fraction of what it costs to purchase (Most of my suits never cost
me more than $15.00 to make and they fit perfectly).  

Hemming Pants
Tired of paying for alterations? Learn the proper and easy way to hem pants, and jeans.  Techniques
will be given on hem lengths, measuring before and after pre-wash, the triangle theory, plain hem, slant
hem, cuff hem, elastic hem, stitching techniques, adjusting pant leg width.  

TV Size Quilt Class
Fun and easy quilt to get you started quilting and is fool-proof - always comes out looking
great!  Great for holiday gifts.  Finished quilts can be seen on About Us page.
